Parker M. Taylor, Ph.D.

Postdoctoral scholar

Parker has a BA (2013) in Anthropology from the University of Arkansas at Little Rock (UALR) and a MS (2015) from University College London (UCL) in Human Evolution and Behaviour. At UALR, Parker focused on the relationships between primate behaviors and their environments while volunteering at the Little Rock Zoo’s Ape Enrichment program. At UCL, his master’s thesis investigated the evolution of primate natal coats across primates. As a PhD Student at the University of Arkansas, Parker became interested in human and non-human primate anatomy, morphometrics, and biomechanics. His PhD dissertation uses geometric morphometrics and diceCT techniques to investigate the relationships between the hyoid and masticatory apparatuses and their connecting musculature (i.e., the suprahyoid muscles) and their roles during swallowing. Parker is continuing this research and more at Ohio University as a Post Doctoral Researcher in the Li Lab.

Audrey Williams

PhD student

I am a doctoral student who is interested in musculoskeletal systems with a passion in understanding the anatomy of extinct species, especially dinosaurs! My previous master's research from Missouri S&T focused on the cervical ligament systems of sauropod dinosaurs and has propelled my passion in understanding ancient life and their anatomical adaptations. I am now continuing this research journey through the Dr Peishu Li lab. I apologize for any corny dinosaur puns!

Valerie Hogue

Undergraduate Researcher

I am an Honors Tutorial College student majoring in Biological Sciences with a minor in Community and Public Health. During my two years at OU, I have participated in several academic and social clubs, as well as exploring research in several different labs. I currently hold a role as a Biology Department Ambassador, which involves educating potential students and discussing my positive experience as a biology major at OU. I am interested in research so that I can explore different areas within biology, such as comparative anatomy, that deepen my understanding of the field and provide foundational knowledge for my future endeavors. After undergrad, I am looking to pursue a career in healthcare, possibly as a Physician's Assistant. I am hoping to partake in a career that combines both of my interests in biology and interpersonal relations.
